Children will have fun while learning important basic concepts (Option 1) necessary for simple direction following. They will also exercise their imagination while listening to the 3 songs (Option 2) and playing with all the toys, animals, bubbles, and cars!

This App is ONLY for iPad 2, iPad3, or higher and iOS 6. or HIGHER!

Because of the size of the app’s menu the app does not rotate – the menu would not fit in the vertical position.

Developed with the help of a speech-language pathologist, this app is appropriate for children ages 2-6.


OPTION 1
A child plays alone or an adult and child play together. Watch your child learn the concepts of under, above, over, between, below, beside, and many others. Chez the monkey will help your child cheer with each correct answer!
The child plays with or without adult supervision by selecting the first option. This option will encourage these important language skills:

- Listening and receptive identification of 22 concepts by following commands.

- Vocabulary building by using a variety of 26 items presented in a random order, and 22 basic concepts words (on, off, on top of, etc,).

The word is shown in print when a specific item appears, encouraging early reading skills. Adults are encouraged to participate, asking a child to say the concept names during the game. The pause button can be used to provide additional time for identifying the correct concept.


What else is possible with this option:

1.Identification (and naming) of common foods and other items/toys.
2.Simple direction-following.
3.Expanding vocabulary knowledge.
4.Additional attributes—which one is high/low, which one has wheels, etc.

TIP:
Use of the pause button as needed to allow for repetition, correction, self-correction, multiple opportunities for practice.

OPTION 2
Some ideas on how to use the power of music and these songs to help your child develop skills while having fun:

1. Just listen to the songs and follow directions as you/the child moves all available items and kids around. Tap on some of the animals and kids – see what they do when … :) Their sounds and actions can keep your child excited and engaged. You can also mute or pause the song and make up your own rules/scenes: you can place kids inside cars, in the stroller, wagon, or on top of the airplane – anything goes, anything is possible. It’s all about tapping into your child’s imagination. You may be surprised what you child can create with the available items.

2. Act out the songs
Pause the app/song and “act out” either with actual objects (or during the daily routines) that correspond with the lyrics in the song. We encourage you to use objects when it is logical to do so. Show the objects as you sing the song. Just think how much fun it would be if your child can move the items around the screen as he/she listens to the song! They will love it and learn!

3. Practice the songs ANYWHERE. Sing in the car, in the bathroom, in the kitchen, in the bedroom. Repetition is the key, so frequent daily practice is of utmost importance.

4. Sing these songs WITHOUT playing the music at times. Parents and teachers who break into spontaneous singing are taking advantage of the true power of music.

Remember: the power of OPTION 2 is IN THE SONGS, so use them and watch your children learn.
