Description:
OctroTalk now supports making audio calls to other GTalk users. You can also send/receive images.
Version 2.0.1 allows you to configure a SIP account, and make calls.
Octrotalk version 2.0.1 is a Google Talk client for Windows Phone 7, which allows you to stay logged in to the Google Talk service, and receive incoming messages via push (in case app is not running in the foreground). OctroTalk supports both tile and push notifications.
There are a few known issues also -
1) Incoming voice calls are only received when the app is in foreground. This is because generally the process of sending a toast notification and then opening the app takes too long and the call terminates before that.
2) The sound of the call only comes from the speaker and not through the handset. Unfortunately, Windows Phone doesn't provide a public API for that. And, we would appreciate if someone can help us get a private API from microsoft :).
3) Echo in sound - again, since we can't use the headset, and since there is no support in the public API.
4) Delay in sound - again this is an OS limitation. If we reduce the delay, there is a distinct "tuck tuck" sound every now and then. Currently the delay in playing the sound is around 1-2 seconds.
