Das 1992 gegründete Institut für Angewandte Trainingswissenschaft (IAT) ist das zentrale Forschungsinstitut des deutschen Spitzen- und Nachwuchsleistungssports. Aufgabe der Wissenschaftler des IAT ist die prozessbegleitende Trainings- und Wettkampfforschung im deutschen Leistungssport mit dem Ziel, Leistungspotenziale deutscher Spitzensportler zu erkennen und auszuschöpfen. Das IAT unterstützt rund 1.000 Sportler mit ihren Trainern aus 18 Sommersportarten und sechs Wintersportarten. Basis dieser Zusammenarbeit sind längerfristige Kooperationsvereinbarungen mit den 20 Spitzen-verbänden. Zu den Aufgaben des IAT zählt auch die Entwicklung von Mess- und Informationssystemen und die Gewährleistung des Informations- und Wissenstransfer zur Sportpraxis.

Das IAT Judoka APPs sowohl für iPhone, iPod Touch als auch für das iPad optimiert. Die Anwendung wurde für Trainer und Judoka des Deutschen Judobundes entwickelt. Kämpfer und Judoka können sich zur Spieleranalyse Videosequenzen (inkl. Standbild- und SlowMotionfunktion) ansehen und Informationen zu weiteren Judoka analysieren.
