MyTransAlert is a must-have app for commuters that use mass transit; it adds efficiency and comfort to your daily train and bus commute.
What does the app do?
MyTransAlert is designed to make your journey hassle-free, safe and efficient by providing access to alerts on when your train or bus will be departing, as you are approaching your station/stop.

MyTransAlert leverages existing mass transit schedules and users’ in-built tracking technology to generate real-time departure alerts based on user preferences including mode(s) of mass transportation and frequency of alerts.

It is also convenient -- You need not open the app, visit a website or carry paper schedules. MyTransAlert does the work for you at no charge.
App features -- with this app you can:
•Create automated alerts for your favorite routes
•Set your preferred arrival time
•Set the distance from the train station or bus stop where you would like to start receiving alerts
•Pick the transit authority you travel on everyday
•Snooze the alert to get up-to-date schedules if you decide to take a later train or bus
•Get real-time updates on trains or bus delays on your route (currently only supported on New York MTA)
Where can I use the app?
This version 1.0 of myTransAlert currently supports notifications in 3 cities:
-New York City - MTA (Metropolitan Transit Authority)
omyTransAlert currently supports real-time tracking of delays in the New York MTA. You will thus be automatically notified if your train or bus is delayed.
-Chicago CTA (Chicago Transit Authority)
-San Francisco BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)
More transit authorities will be added in the near future.

Why did we build this app?
As commuters, we are tired of watching the door shut while approaching the train on the NYC subway. It would have been great to know exactly when the train departs or the wait time for the next train. We could pick up or slow down our walking pace accordingly prior to arriving at the train station.
We thus wanted to build an app for all the commuters whom have faced similar challenges and frustrations while trying to get to catch the earliest train or bus to work or home.
